Through Neurodivergent Eyes: Decoding the Political Divide.
A Slightly Different Lens on Why We Can't All Just Get Along.
Trust me, I’m no Einstein, and never will be. Stringing a coherent sentence together when I’m writing is often as much as I can manage, and I have no qualifications to fall back on either. I’m just your ordinary Joe Blogs with a modicum of intelligence, a label of neurodivergence, and a few random thoughts I put out there pretty much daily in the form of these ‘Almighty Gob’ blogs. My emotional intelligence is a vast plateau of nothing, with no discernible peaks or troughs. I rarely get excited about anything because, well, it’s just life, and my two guiding principles are: shit happens, and shit doesn’t happen, so roll with it. I call it balanced; others may disagree.
I guess I take a back seat where life is concerned, doing little more than spectating and commenting on the madness of the world around me as I see it through these neurodivergent eyes I’m still blessed with. I interpret this madness satirically, as it’s the only way I can explain it to myself and reason with it in what I view as an increasingly unreasonable geopolitical world – or maybe just ‘world.’ Full stop. On this matter, the jury is still out and will remain so indefinitely.
Realistically, from the comfort of my back seat, I am little more than an amateur psychologist and philosopher. Although I’ve already stated that I have no qualifications, maybe, just maybe, I’ve sold myself short where life experience is concerned. Of this, I have plenty, and I surprised myself by writing an Amazon/Kindle-published book about it, then really blew my mind even further by beginning a follow-up! Yes, a work in progress.
Anyway, having paddling-pool dived into yesterday’s Rees, Bristol-Politics blog, it spurred me into doing some actual homework for a change, leading to another sleepless night of cogitating and mulling over exactly how I could broaden the subject of politics into something hopefully more interesting. I plan to use my limited, amateur understanding of philosophy and psychology to question, and hopefully answer, what divides us into left and right leanings and beliefs, with not too much satire for a change. You know.
So, here I close for now. You can take this as a teaser, if you will, for what’s to follow later today when my brain, or what there is of it, is more fully in gear. It’ll be interesting, and something of a ‘must-read’ for you. Even if I do say so myself.
The Political Straitjacket: Are Our Labels Binding Us?
Okay, so moving on from this morning’s post, and despite feeling cooked from the inside out, due to today’s surprisingly high temperature, the only thing that’s been fried is my brain from delving into politics, psychology and philosophy. So, thanks, Marvin, for the inspiration from yesterday! And, here’s today’s starter for ten for you, dear reader, to get your head around.
